In the census for 1900 he was unmarried and living with his parents and siblings on the Kvakkestad (bnr. 1) farm in Askim. His year of birth is recorded as 1876.


Anders married Maren Sofie Oraug, daughter of Jens Petter Larsen Oraug and Karoline Emilie Andreasdatter, on 3 Jul 1901 in Askim, Østfold, Norway.1 (Maren Sofie Oraug was born on 5 Sep 1875 in Askim, Østfold, Norway 5 and died in 1952.)
