Marte was a servantgirl at the øvre Holter farm.

In the census for 1865 Marthe was a widow living from her capital on the Sangen farm in Spydeberg. The farm was then owned and farmed by her son Christen.


Marte married Anders Gulbrandsen Sundby, son of Gulbrand Brynhildsen Rom and Mari Kristensdatter Svinekle, on 17 Sep 1822 in Askim church, Askim, Østfold, Norway.1 (Anders Gulbrandsen Sundby was born in 1797 and died before 1866.)


  Marriage Notes:

When they married Anders was 25 years old and Marthe was 24.

After they were married they moved first to Kykkelsruddalen. They were tenant farmers there in 1822 when their son, Kristen, was christened.

In 1826 they moved to Vegger in Hobøl (Anders was 29 and Marte was 28 years old) with their son Kristen. 1
