Lars Mathisen Onstad ^{2 3 4}

He had a twin sister, Marthe, who died when she was only 8 years old.

On 7 January 1837 Lars Mathisen bought Nordre Onstad from his father for 1600 Spesiedaler. After his father died he acquired Søndre Onstad in 1854 for 3050 Spesiedlr. Lars moved his family to Onstad Søndre, but he had a farmer on Onstad Nordre.

Lars sold Onstad Nordre on 20 February 1861 for 4500 Spesiedlr. After about 10 years he turned over Onstad Søndre to his son Anders, and took pension.

Lars married Siri Thorersdatter Henstad, daughter of Torer Hansen Dramstad and Anikken Mattisdatter Henstad, on 4 Nov 1835 in Askim church, Askim, Østfold, Norway.¹ (Siri Thorersdatter Henstad was born in 1805 in Askim, Østfold, Norway and was christened on 18 Aug 1805 in Askim, Østfold, Norway.)

  Marriage Notes:

When they married Lars was 26 years old and Siri was 30. Neither was married before.

In the 1865 census they owned and farmed part (Merknad 10) of the Onstad farm in Askim. Lars was 56 and Sigri was 61 years old. They had two sons with them: Theodor (28) and Carl (17). There was also a servant there, Johanne Larsdatter (23 and born in Askim). ^{1 5}
