Cause of her death was tuberculosis. General Notes: She was encouraged by her grandmother, Sarah, to hope for the royal alliance, which was prompted more by the prince's hope of an increased financial allowance than from any mutual affection. However, the idea of such a marriage was quashed by King George II, and Lady Diana married, in 1731, John Russell, 4th Duke of Bedford. She died tragically young. 3 Noted events in her life were: • She was employed. Duchess of Bedford Diana married John Russell on 11 Oct 1731. (John Russell was born on 30 Sep 1710 and died on 15 Jan 1771 in Bedford House, Bloomsbury, London, England.) Marriage Notes: They had one child, John Russell, Marquess of Tavistock (b. 6 Nov 1732, d. 6 Nov 1732). 2 |
