  General Notes:

He was 28 years old in the census for 1801.

In December 1803 Christen bought the Olberg farm in Askim for 2999 rdl. He was probably from Eidsberg and was about 34 years old when he went to Olberg. He was married at the time and his wife, Ragnhild Olsdatter, was 30.

In 1836 Kristen Iversen Olberg bought the øvre Sando farm (u. Nedre Rud) in Askim.

He was 70 years old when he died in 1842.

• He was a farmer, farmowner, grenadier, blacksmith [Selvejer, og bruger af halve gaarden, grenader og smed] in 1801 in Langenæs Nordre, Eidsberg, Østfold, Norway.


Christen married Ragnhild Olsdatter. (Ragnhild Olsdatter was born circa Jan 1774, died in 1811 in Olberg, Askim, Østfold, Norway and was buried on 21 Apr 1811.) The cause of her death was tuberculosis and severe diarrhea [Tæring og streng Mavesyge].


  Marriage Notes:

In the 1801 census they owned half of the Langenæs Nordre farm in Eidsberg which they farmed. Gulbrand Hansen, 75 year old widow, owned the other half. Christen was 28 years old and Ragnild was 26. Both were in their first marriage. They had their 2 year old daughter, Anne Maria, with them. Christen's sister's son, 9 year old Hans Johannesen, was also with them. 4

Christen next married Marthe Andersdatter Onstad, daughter of Anders Olsen and Mari Jensdatter, on 16 May 1812 in Askim, Østfold, Norway.1 (Marthe Andersdatter Onstad was born in 1792, christened on 16 Dec 1792 in Askim, Østfold, Norway, died on 6 Dec 1868 in nordre Skjørten, Askim, Østfold, Norway and was buried on 15 Dec 1868.)
