Another name for Johan was Johan Gundersen Grøttvet. General Notes: Johan lived on the Fusk farm when he took over the nordre Grøttvet, bnr. 1, farm in Askim for 1600 spdl. in 1853 after his father. He farmed it until about 1890. Research Notes: In the census for 1900 he was widowed and living with his daughter Julie's family on the Grøtvedt nordre farm in Askim. He was living on a pension and helping with the farm work. 6 Johan married Sissel Andersdatter, daughter of Anders Smedsen and Tore Johannesdatter, in 1839. (Sissel Andersdatter was born on 14 Mar 1817 in Gjellestad plads, Askim, Østfold, Norway, christened on 23 Mar 1817 in Askim, Østfold, Norway and died before 1900 6.) Marriage Notes: In 1865 they owned and farmed the Grøttvet nordre (79b) farm in Askim.
