   Other names for Gulbrand were Gulbrand Brynildsen and Gurud.

  General Notes:

Gulbrand was from the nordre Rom farm in Askim. He leased a part of the nedre Rud farm before he went to Gurud. He bought the southern part of the Nedre Gurud farm in 1801.

Gulbrand married Mari Kristensdatter Svinekle, daughter of Kristen Syversen and Margrete Olsdatter Svinekle, on 29 Oct 1794 in Askim, Østfold, Norway.¹ (Mari Kristensdatter Svinekle was born in 1772, died on 26 Nov 1853 in Tarm, Askim, Østfold, Norway and was buried on 6 Dec 1853.)

  Marriage Notes:

In 1801 the family was on the Rud nedre farm in Askim. Gulbrand was 52 and Mari was 28 years old, both in their first marriage. Their three sons were with them.
