Another name for Eorcenberht was Earconbert. General Notes: Said by the venereable Bede to be the first English King to order the destruction of idols throughout his kingdom. He also ordered everyone to observe lenten fasts. Noted events in his life were: • He was a King of Kent From 640. Eorcenberht married. Eorcenberht next married Sexburga of East-Anglia, daughter of Anna of East-Anglia and Saewara. |
