In 1880 he bought the Hauger farm in Askim from Anne Kristine Åser. He sold it in 1886 for 20 000 kr.

Johannes was the agent [gårdsfullmektig] for his father-in-law's farm, nedre Oraug bnr.2. In 1898 he and Olava moved to Kristiania.

In the census for 1865 Johannes Larsen was 8 years old and lived with his parents and siblings on the Narvestad farm in Eidsberg. He helped with the farmwork. 4


Johannes married Olava Andreasdatter Krogstad, daughter of Andreas Pedersen Krogstad and Maren Ingebretsdatter Høie. (Olava Andreasdatter Krogstad was born in 1858 in Eidsberg, Østfold, Norway and died in 1947.)
