  General Notes:

Jens took over the Myra farm [under øvre Rud] when his father died. About ten years later in 1893 Jens moved to the nordre Ilen, bnr. 6, farm and sold Myra for 1 300 kr to Kristian Hansen, brother of Ole Hansen øvre Rud and Ludvig Hansen Moen.

In 1894 Jens bought nordre Ilen for 11 400 kr. He ran Ilen until he died in 1908.

Jens married Anne Marie Kristiansdatter Åsrud, daughter of Kristian Johansen and Elen Abrahamsdatter, on 25 Jul 1877 in Askim, Østfold, Norway.1 (Anne Marie Kristiansdatter Åsrud was born on 13 Dec 1850 in øvre Rud, Askim, Østfold, Norway, christened on 26 Dec 1850 in Askim, Østfold, Norway and died in 1934 in Moen, Askim, Østfold, Norway.)


  Marriage Notes:

In the census for 1900 they owned and farmed the Ihlen nordre (bnr. 6) farm in Askim. Six of their seven surviving children were with them, all unmarried. The eldest, Maren, was working as a seamstress on Løkken in Askim. 6
