Another name for Emeric was Emeric Arpád. General Notes: One source identifies his mother as Agnes de Châtillon, the daughter of Reynold de Châtillon. His father, Bela III Arpád, married, firstly, Mary Comnena in 1164. He and Mary Comnena were divorced in 1168. He married, secondly, Agnes de Châtillon, daughter of Reynold de Châtillon, in 1168. He married, thirdly, Marguerite de France, Princesse de France, daughter of Louis VII, Roi de France and Constanza de Castilla. Noted events in his life were: • Acceded: 1196. King of Hungary. Emeric married Constance of Aragon, daughter of Alphonso II the Chaste of Aragón and Sancha of Castile, in 1198. (Constance of Aragon was born before 1183 and died on 23 Jun 1222.) |
