Helene married Villem Hansen Tornerud. (Villem Hansen Tornerud was born in 1811 in Halstvet, Eidsberg, Østfold, Norway, died on 10 Aug 1879 in Askim, Østfold, Norway and was buried on 15 Aug 1879.)

In the 1865 census they were cottagers with land on the Nordre Tornerud farm in Askim. Vilhelm was 55 and Heline was 46 years old. They had their following children with them: Maren Lovise (22), Anthon (20), Ole Fredrik (15), Anna (13), Caroline (10), Johannes (8), and Carl Henr. (6). ²
