Cause of his death was brain disease [hjernesykdom]. Another name for Edvard was Edvard Andersen Tårnerud. General Notes: He took over the Tornerud farm in Askim and was a cottager there until 1888, when he took over the vestre Tømt farm for 4 100 kr. Later he was on Langbråten (1898) which he bought for 735 kr. In 1908 he sold Langbråten moved to Skaug. By then he was a widower. Research Notes: In the census for 1865 Edevart Andersen was 19 years old and working as a servant on the Folkenborg (99b) farm in Eidsberg. Edvard married Maren Lovise Villemsdatter, daughter of Villem Hansen Tornerud and Helene Jonsdatter Kastdalen, on 9 Jan 1874 in Askim, Østfold, Norway.1 (Maren Lovise Villemsdatter was born on 16 Oct 1844 in Eidsberg, Østfold, Norway and died before 1908.) Marriage Notes: In the census for 1900 they owned and farmed the Langbraaten farm in Askim. Their daughter Marie Emilie was with them. 8 |
