Another name for Henry was Henry III of Champagne. General Notes: He was the youngest son of Theobald IV of Champagne (who was also king Theobald I of Navarre) and Margaret of Foix. In December 1270 Henry succeeded his eldest brother Theobald V of Champagne (Theobald II of Navarre) as King of Navarre and Count of Champagne. Noted events in his life were: • He was a Count of Champaigne. • Acceded: King of Navarre, 1270. Henry married Blanche of Artois, daughter of Robert I of Artois Capet and Matilde de Brabant, in 1269. (Blanche of Artois was born circa 1247 and died on 2 May 1302 in Paris, France.) |
