   Another name for Julius was Julius Guttormsen Næs.

  General Notes:

He was from Rud in Trøgstad.

In the 1865 census he is shown livng on the Næs nordre (mellem) farm in Trygstad with his brother Johannes, his father Guttorm Olsen, his sister Johanne Guttormsdatter, and Ingeborg Olsdatter (53) a "tjenestepige". The two sons co-owned the farm.

In 1899 Julius Guttormsen bought the Mellom-Skjolden farm in Askim from Kristian Magnussen for 7 500 kr.

Julius married Halvorine Gunhilda Korøen, daughter of Anders Christiansen and Ingeborg Guldbrandsdatter. (Halvorine Gunhilda Korøen was born on 19 Dec 1860 in Rødenes, Østfold, Norway, christened on 17 Feb 1861 in Rødenes, Østfold, Norway and died in 1933.)

In December 1889 they appear to be on the Hovin(?) or Havnen farm in Østre Aker, Akershus.

In the census for 1900 Julius and Halvorine Guttormsen owned and farmed the Skjolden (gnr.83, bnr.2) farm in Askim. With them were their two children and Julius' brother, Karl Guttormsen, as well as ten other people on the farm, mostly stoneworkers. ^{5 7}
