She was the daughter of Witold of Lithuania , Grand Duke of Lithuania.

Sophia married Basil I of Moscow, son of Dmitry of Moscow Donskoi and Eudoxia of Suzdal Rurik, on 9 Jan 1391. (Basil I of Moscow was born on 30 Dec 1371 and died on 27 Feb 1425.)
