Andreas was a cottager's son on the Løkenbråtan (also called Snuta) farm in Askim.

In 1865 the Sørli and Myra farms (under Søndre Løken) in Askim were used by Andreas Kristiansen. His son Karl and Karl's wife, Oline, also lived there in 1874 when their son Julian Oskar was born. Andreas was called Andreas Christiansen Myren when Karl was married in 1874.

His year of birth is also incorrectly recorded as 1824.

Andreas was 24½ years old when he married Anne Maria in December 1849. (This would make his year of birth 1825.) He was from a Løken plads farm in Askim. His father was Christian Andersen.

His baptism record confirms his birthdate as 14 Apr 1825.

Andreas married Anne Marie Halvorsdatter, daughter of Halvor Østensen and Cidcil Østensdatter Aaser, on 27 Dec 1849 in Askim, Østfold, Norway.¹ (Anne Marie Halvorsdatter was born on 18 May 1821 in Nesodden, Akershus, Norway ⁵, christened on 27 May 1821 in Nesodden, Akershus, Norway, died on 8 Jun 1903 in England, Askim, Østfold, Norway and was buried on 15 Jun 1903 in Askim, Østfold, Norway.)

In June 1851 when their son Carl was christened they were called Andreas Christiansen og Anne Maria Halvorsdr Gurud.
