Anders married Marie Thorersdatter. (Marie Thorersdatter was born circa 1758, died on 7 Feb 1834 in Blandhoel, Askim, Østfold, Norway and was buried on 18 Feb 1834 in Askim, Østfold, Norway.)

  Marriage Notes:

In the census of 1801 the family was living on the Blandhoel farm in Askim. Anders was 36 years old and his wife, Mari or Marie Thorersdtr., was 44. They had a 4 year old daughter, Maria, and Anders Mathisen's sister, Kari, lived with them. Kari was a 60 year old widow.

Maria was their only child. ⁵
