General Notes: Geneticsts say he introduced haemophilia into the Royal family by being an elderly father of Queen Victoria. The mutation started here. Noted events in his life were: • He was a Duke of Kent and Duke of Strathearn. Edward married Victoria Mary Louisa von Saxe-Coburg, daughter of Franz I Friedrich Antony von Sachsen-Coburg-Saalfeld and Augusta Reuss-Ebersdorf, on 13 Jul 1818 in Kew Palace, Surrey, England. (Victoria Mary Louisa von Saxe-Coburg was born on 17 Aug 1786 in Coburg, Germany and died on 16 Mar 1861 in Frogmore House, Windsor, England.) |
