Cause of his death was beheading. General Notes: He was from 1327 'after the execution and forfeiture of the 7th Earl' for the three remaining years of his life to hold the castle and honour of Arundel, although he was never formally invested with the titles appropriate to his barony. He was the father of Joan of Kent, through whom the earldom eventually passed into the Holland family. Noted events in his life were: • Acceded: Earl of Kent, 1st, 28 Jul 1321. • He was an Earl of Arundel. Edmund married Margaret of Liddell Wake, daughter of John Wake and Joan de Fenes, in Dec 1325 in Blisworth, Northamptonshire, England. (Margaret of Liddell Wake was born in 1309 and died on 29 Sep 1349.) The cause of her death was the bubonic plague. |
