General Notes: In 1513 Claude de Guise married Antoinette de Bourbon (1493-1583), noted for the simplicity of her life, her renunciation of all rich materials in dress, and her great charity toward hospitals, the poor, and orphans. By her he had eight sons and four daughters. Noted events in her life were: • She was a Duchess of Guise. Antoinette married Claude of Guise de Lorraine, son of René II de Lorraine and Philippine von Geldern, on 9 Jun 1513. (Claude of Guise de Lorraine was born on 20 Oct 1496 in Château de Condé and died on 12 Apr 1550 in Joinville.) |
