Thierry of Alsace de Lorraine ^{1 2}

Thierry d'Alsace, sometimes known as Derry or Dirk.

After the murder of Charles the Good, Thierry was one the claimants for the county. Due to the support of King Louis VI of France, William Clito became count instead. Thierry succeeded after William's death in 1128.

• Acceded: Count of Flanders, 1128.

Thierry married Sybil of Anjou, daughter of Fulk V the Younger of Anjou and Ermengard of Maine, in 1139. (Sybil of Anjou was born circa 1112-1114 and died in 1165 in Abbey of St Lazarus, Bethlethem.)
