Queen of Scotland. • Acceded: Queen of Scotland, 8 Aug 1503, Holyrood Abbey, Edinburgh, Scotland. • Interred: Carthusian Abbey of St John, Perth. Margaret married James IV Stewart of Scotland, son of James III Stewart of Scotland and Margaret Oldenburg, on 8 Aug 1503 in Holyrood Abbey, Edinburgh, Scotland. (James IV Stewart of Scotland was born on 17 Mar 1473 and died on 9 Sep 1513 near Branxton, Northumberland, England.) Margaret next married Archibald Douglas on 4 Aug 1514. The marriage ended in divorce on 11 Mar 1527-1528. (Archibald Douglas was born circa 1490, died in Jan 1556-1557 in Tantallon Castle, Scotland and was buried in Abernethy, Perth & Kinross, Scotland.) The cause of his death was erysipelas. |
