Kristian married Hanna Tomine Nilsen Raae, daughter of Nils Syversen Raae and Anne Elisabeth Gundersdatter. (Hanna Tomine Nilsen Raae was born on 20 Sep 1857 in Glemminge, Østfold, Norway and was christened on 22 Nov 1857 in Glemmen, Østfold, Norway.)

In the census for 1900 Kristian and Hanna lived on the Græsvik farm in Onsøy. There were 5 daughters and 2 sons. One of the daughters, Gerda Marie, was living in Kristiania as a servant. ¹
