Ian Holter was initially a United Church minister in Alberta and Vancouver but changed careers in his forties and became a librarian. He worked for a short time as a librarian at the University of Regina, then was regional director of the Parkland Regional District out of Yorkton, Saskatchewan and for the last 13 years of his career was the first Director of the Port Moody public library. He and Peggy live in Port Coquitlam, B.C.
