   Other names for Halvor were Halvor Tøgersen Grøtvedt and Tochersen.

  General Notes:

Halvor took over the Grøttvet farm, Askim, in 1795 for 1498 rdl. He came from Pukerud in Båstad. As well as running the farm, Halvor worked as a wheel-wright and blacksmith.

He is possibly the brother of Kristian Tøgersen of the Skårud farm in Askim.

  Noted events in his life were:

• He was confirmed in 1774 in Båstad church, Trøgstad, Østfold, Norway.

• He was a farmer, wheelwright and blacksmith in 1801 in Grøttvet nordre, Askim, Østfold, Norway.

Halvor married Sissel Nilsdatter, daughter of Niels Olsen Hov and Dorthe Larsdatter Rud, on 5 Apr 1789 in Trøgstad, Østfold, Norway.¹ (Sissel Nilsdatter was born circa 1767, died on 8 Dec 1847 in Stenbøl, Askim, Østfold, Norway and was buried on 17 Dec 1847.)

  Marriage Notes:

In 1801 the family was on the Grotvedt Nordre farm in Askim. Halvor Tochersen
was 41 and Sissel Nielsdtr was 33 years old. They were both in their first marriage. ⁴
