  General Notes:

Jens was from Nord-Halstvet in Eidsberg. He moved to the Kastdalen farm in Askim in about 1793 and farmed østre Kastdalen the greater part of the time until 1846. In about 1812 he bought the Moseby farm and lived there for a while. He farmed both farms. In 1823 Jens sold Moseby to his son Kristen for 1000 spdl.

He was 85 years old when he died.

Jens married Kari Svensdatter, daughter of Sven Hansen Gudim and Olea Olsdatter Hov, on 26 Oct 1789 in Askim, Østfold, Norway.¹ (Kari Svensdatter was born in 1771, died on 20 Jan 1848 in Askim, Østfold, Norway and was buried on 29 Jan 1848.)

When they married she was recorded as Kari Svendsdatter Maasebye. ¹
