In the census for 1900 he was married and living on the Østby farm in Askim.

• Alt Marriage: 4 Marriage Notes: In the census for 1900 they lived on and farmed the Østby (bnr. 3) farm in Askim. They had a daughter, a son, a fosterdaughter, and a fosterson with them: Anna, Henrik, Karen M Olsen (born 1891, Kristiania), and Paul Josef Hansen (born 1898, Kristiania). There were also two swedish farmhands living on the farm.
