Kirsti was just 26 years old when her first husband, Mogens, died.

In 1801 she was 27 years old, widowed, and living and working on the Onstad farm. She had her two children with her. She married Mathis Andersen that year. Mathis was also on the farm, which was owned by his father. 5

Kirsti married Mogens Amundsen. (Mogens Amundsen was born in Sep 1758, died in 1800 in Onstad, Askim, Østfold, Norway and was buried on 5 Oct 1800 in Askim, Østfold, Norway.) The cause of his death was [Brok og Betændelse i Tarmene].


Kirsti next married Mathis Andersen Onstad, son of Anders Olsen and Mari Jensdatter, on 14 Dec 1801 in Askim, Østfold, Norway.1 (Mathis Andersen Onstad was born in 1780 in Onstad, Askim, Østfold, Norway, christened on 17 Feb 1780 in Askim, Østfold, Norway, died on 2 Sep 1853 in Askim, Østfold, Norway and was buried on 9 Sep 1853 in Askim, Østfold, Norway.)


  Marriage Notes:

Kirsti was a young widow from the other Onstad (det andre Onstad) when she married Mathis. Mathis took over both Onstad Nordre in Askim from Kirsti, and Onstad Søndre after his father.

Kirsti and Mathis had 7 children, but most of them died when they were young. In August 1814 three died within a week, of dysentery ("Blodgang").

When Kirsti died the entire Onstad farm was disbursed to her widow, Mathiis Andersen, for 2900 Spesiedaler. But on 07 January 1837 Mathis issued the deed to Nordre Onstad to his son, Lars Mathisen, for 1600 Spesiedaler.
