General Notes: Jeanne (or Joan or Johanna) of Navarre, Queen Consort of France, was the daughter of Henry III of Champagne and Blanche of Artois. In 1274, upon the death of her father, she became Countess of Champagne and Queen of Navarre. Noted events in her life were: • Acceded: Queen of Navarre, 1274. • She was a Countess of Champagne. Joan married Philip IV the Fair of France Capet, son of Philip III the Bold of France and Isabelle of Aragón, on 16 Aug 1284. (Philip IV the Fair of France Capet was born in 1268 in Fontainebleau, France and died on 29 Oct 1314 in Fontainebleau, France.) Marriage Notes: At the age of 13, Jeanne married Philippe IV of France on August 16, 1284, becoming Queen a year later. Their children were: |
