  General Notes:

She was a daughter of Ragnvald (Rogvolod (Russian), Rahvalod (Belarusian)) of Polotsk, a wife of Vladimir the Great of Kiev, and mother of Yaroslav I the Wise and Iziaslav.

Vladimir killed Ragnvald and his sons, and forcibly took Rogneda.

She attempted to plot against Vladimir and kill him, but failed, and Vladimir banished her, together with Iziaslav to Polotsk.

There is a legend that she became a nun and took the name Anastasia.

Rogneda married Vladimir I Svyatoslavich the Holy of Kiev, son of Svyatoslav I Igoryevich of Kiev and Matuscha. The marriage ended in divorce. (Vladimir I Svyatoslavich the Holy of Kiev was born circa 956 in Kiev, Kievan Rus [now in Ukraine], christened in 989 and died on 15 Jul 1015 in Berestova, near Kiev.)
