Hans married Dorthea Johnsdatter, daughter of Jon Fridriksen and Olea Pedersdatter Hobbel, on 12 Mar 1853 in Askim, Østfold, Norway.¹ (Dorthea Johnsdatter was born on 28 Nov 1826 in Askim, Østfold, Norway, christened on 10 Dec 1826 in Askim, Østfold, Norway, died on 16 Jan 1922 in Solli, Trøgstad, Østfold, Norway and was buried on 27 Jan 1922.)
