General Notes:
Astrid Njalsdotter came from Hålogaland in Norway and married Ragnvald Ulfsson, the earl of Staraya Ladoga. After Ragnvald's death ca 1040, she went to Sweden and married its king Emund the Old. When the king died, Stenkil, her son by Ragnvald, became the king of Sweden.
Staraya Ladoga is the earliest capital of Russia. It was called Aldeigjuborg in Norse sagas.
Astrid married Ragnvald Ulfsson den Gamle of Sweden, son of Ulf Tostesson and Unknown. (Ragnvald Ulfsson den Gamle of Sweden died circa 1020-1030.)
Astrid next married Emund the Old of Sweden, son of Olof Skötkonung Eriksson of Sweden and Edla, after 1030. (Emund the Old of Sweden died in 1060.)
Marriage Notes:
After the death of Ragvald Astrid returned to Sweden with her son Stenkil and married the Swedish king Emund the Old. 2
