  General Notes:

Dronning av Aragon 1137 - 1162.

Petronilla var arving til kongeriket Aragonien.

Petronila's father bethrothed her (aged two) to Ramon Berenguer IV of Catalonia, abdicated in her favour and returned to monastic life.

Petronila married Ramon Berenguer in 1150. While he was alive, they nominally ruled their possessions separately, although the count had the final say over both Aragon and Catalonia. Upon his death Petronila renounced the crown of Aragon in favour of her eldest son Ramon, who, in compliment to the Aragonese, changed his name to Alfonso.

Noted events in her life were:

• Abdicated: 1162.

Petronilla married Raymond IV the Saint Berengar, son of Raymond III the Great Berengar and Dolca of Provence, in 1151. (Raymond IV the Saint Berengar was born circa 1113 3 and died on 8 Aug 1162 in Genova.)
