General Notes: Sigurd Håkonsson (circa 895 - 962) (Old Norse Sigurðr Hákonarson), earl of Lade (Trøndelag) and son of Håkon Grjotgardsson. Sigurd was killed by Eirik Bloodaxe's son king Harald Greyhide as part of Haralds effort to re-unite all of Norway under his rule. This killing was later revenged by Sigurd's son, Håkon Sigurdsson. Noted events in his life were: • He was an Earl. Sigurd married Bergljot Toresdatter, daughter of Tore Teiande Ragnvaldsson Mørejarl and Ålov Årbot Haraldsdatter. |
