After John died she stayed with her children on the Hobøl Søndre farm in Askim until 1874 when it was sold by auction for 1190 spdlr.

The baptism records for Askim, 1821-1823, contain no record of Helene Christensdatter.

Helene married John Andersen Hobøl, son of Anders Knudsen Hobbel and Marthe Hansdatter Catheralen, on 25 Sep 1841 in Askim, Østfold, Norway.¹ (John Andersen Hobøl was born on 21 Nov 1818 in Hobøl, Askim, Østfold, Norway, christened on 29 Nov 1818 in Askim, Østfold, Norway, died on 17 Dec 1866 in Honshytta, Askim, Østfold, Norway and was buried on 29 Dec 1866.)

  Marriage Notes:

When they married John was 22 and Helene was 19 years old. They had at least 9 children. He was from the Hobbel farm and she was from Mørktvedt Teien.

In 1865 the family was living on part of the Hobøl farm in Askim. John was a laborer [dagarbeider]. There were four daughters and two sons, all unmarried. Their daughter Oline is not listed with them. She was by then the foster daughter of Lars Gundersen and Gunhild Johannesdatter on the Katralen farm.
