The 1900 census shows "Marry" and 2 brothers, 2 sisters and parents on the Løkke farm in Askim. It also identifies her birthplace and year (1885).

Barney and Mary Rasmussen and 3 children left Christiania Norway on September 25, 1914, on the Oscar II ship. Their stated address when they departed was Vinkelgaten 10 II. They arrived at Ellis Island, New York, on 07 October 1914. They went to Butte, Montana, and lived there for about a year before moving to Seattle where they settled.

Mary's sister Nelly also settled in Seattle. Minnie also lived there.

Mary's birthdate has been recorded, incorrectly, as 12 Jan 1881. 13 feb 1885 is given by the Norwegian emigration web site and Lorang Rasmussen agrees with it. At her christening it is recorded as 12 Feb 1885.

Mary had a child with Kristian Edvardsen.

Mary next married Bjarne Christian Rasmussen, son of Petter Rasmussen and Marie Larsen, on 15 Nov 1909 in Oslo, Norway. (Bjarne Christian Rasmussen was born on 12 Dec 1886 in Oslo, Norway, died on 28 Oct 1963 and was buried in Evergreen-Washelli Cemetery, Seattle, King, Washington, USA.) The cause of his death was heart attack.
