"Eoldorman": an important personage (Shire Officer) who participated in the Witan (Parliament). The title later evolved into Earl.

AEthelred, married Eadburh of Mercia, daughter of Wigmund and Elfleda of Mercia. (Eadburh of Mercia died after 840.)
