He held the office of Custos Rotulorum of Gloucestershire between 1689 and 1710. He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of Gloucestershire between 1694 and 1710. He held the office of High Steward of Gloucester in 1695. He held the office of Warden of the Forest of Dean between 1697 and 1710. He held the office of Constable of St. Briavel's Castle between 1697 and 1710. He was on the Committee of the East India Company between 1699 and 1705. His will (dated 9 March 1708/9) was probated on 25 November 1710.
