She took Lægreid as her surname after her divorce from Thor Bergdahl. Lægreid was the maiden name of her mother and is still a very common name in Årdal in Sogn, where Oda-Marie feels her roots are.

Oda-Marie married Thor Kristianson Bergdahl, son of Kristian August Bergdahl and Margrete Ingeborg Aastorp, in 1960 in Askim, Østfold, Norway. The marriage ended in divorce circa 1997. (Thor Kristianson Bergdahl was born on 7 May 1937.)
