"Dictionaire de Biographie Française" av J. Bateau oppgir at Gerlaug var Gange-Rolvs datter i ekteskapet med Popa, idet Gerlaug var født før traktaten av 911 i St. Clair-sur-Epte. I denne fikk Gange-Rolv av Karl "den Enfoldige" landet omkring Seine ned til havet og hans datter Gisela til hustru.

Popa married Gange-Rolv Ragnvaldsson of Normandy, son of Ragnvald Mørejarl and Hild Rolvsdatter, in 886. (Gange-Rolv Ragnvaldsson of Normandy was born between 860 and 866 and died in 931.)
