She is possibly the daughter of Svend Wellumsen and Larine Gulbrandsdatter who lived on and farmed the Haug vestres Deel farm in Eidsberg in 1865. In the census for 1865 they were the only ones in Eidsberg who had a daughter of the appropriate age and by the name Johanne Sven....:

Johanne married Hans Peter Larsen Torp, son of Lars Olsen and Anne M. Arnesdatter. (Hans Peter Larsen Torp was born in 1846 in Eidsberg, Østfold, Norway.)

In October 1899 the family was living on the Torp farm in Trøgstad.

In the census for 1900 Hans and Johanne owned and farmed the Torp søndre med Bjørkeflaten farm in Trøgstad. They had 4 daughters and 2 sons with them.
