In the census for 1865 Paulus was 4 years old and living with his widowed mother and his siblings on the Østby farm in Aas, Akershus.

Paulus married Dorthea Johansdatter Støkken, daughter of Johan Larsen Støkken and Hågine Andersdatter Ugjesterud. (Dorthea Johansdatter Støkken was born on 5 Jan 1861 in Aas, Akershus, Norway and died on 11 Sep 1940.)

  Marriage Notes:

In the census for 1900 Paulus and Thea were living on the Trosterud farm in Askim. They had two daughters and two sons with them then: Dagny, Paula, Øistein, and Asbjørn.

They were living on the Delingsrud farm in Trøgstad in October 1907 when their son Steffen Øistein was confirmed. ²
