A "Peter Dall", from Sweden with the correct age, appears in the 1860 Minnesota census for Taylors Falls in Chisago County. This may be Peter J. Dahl. His first children were born in Taylors Falls starting in about 1865.

1910 census he's a widower living with son Eddie, who is unmarried.

Peter married Jacobine Bergitta Michelet, daughter of Frederik Michelet and Lene Brandt, 1863 or 1864. (Jacobine Bergitta Michelet was born on 9 Aug 1840 in Norway, christened on 28 Feb 1841 in Halden, Østfold, Norway, died 20 Jul 1905 or 1908 and was buried in St Olaf's Cemetery, Anderson Twp, Burnett, Wisconsin, USA.)
