In the census for 1865 Lena was 19 years old. She managed her father's household.

In the census for 1900 she was called Line Haldorsen. She owned and farmed the Leangsrud (Ledingsrud) farm in Eidsberg. Her brother Torvald K Berg also lived there. Torvald's future wife, Thea Sikkelsten, also lived there.

In the census for 1865 the Ledingsrud (35a) farm in Eidsberg was occupied by Henrik Haldorsen and his 22 year old sister Maren. Henrik was 32 years old, unmarried, and a schoolteacher and farmer. He possibly married Lena Christensdatter (who became Line Haldorsen).
