  General Notes:

Marie was 39 years old in the 1865 census and was living with her brother Kristian and his family on part of the Gutu farm in Askim. She fed herself through needlework [Ernærer sig ved Haandarbeide især Spinding]. Her two daughters were with her: Johanna (12) and Petrine (3). Her husband "sidder paa Slaveriet".

Maria married Hans Syversen, son of Syver Rasmussen and Unknown, on 12 Aug 1848 in Askim, Østfold, Norway. (Hans Syversen was born circa 1824.)

  Marriage Notes:

When they married Hans was 24 years old and from the Torper farm in Eidsberg. Maria was 23 years old and from the Gutu farm in Askim, previously from Østrengdalen. Hans' father was Syver Rasmussen.

In April 1852 when their son Peter was christened they were called Hans Syversen og Maria Poulsdr nedre Ruud. ³
