Rasmus was 46 years old in the census for 1801. He was in his 2nd marriage. His wife, Johanne Larsdatter, was in her first marriage. It is not clear who the mother of his children was. The family was living on and farming the Aamodt Søndre farm in Skiptvet.

Rasmus next married Johanne Larsdatter. (Johanne Larsdatter was born circa 1768.)
