  General Notes:

In 1904 August took over the Dammen u. Søndre Rom farm in Askim for 3900 kr. He sold to his son-in-law, Sverre Nilsen, in 1946.

He had worked for "Glommen Tresliperi" (pulpmill) for 36 years. He had been a member of the administration of the social security office [trygdekassens styre] for 24 years.

August married Karoline Anette Mattisdatter. (Karoline Anette Mattisdatter was born in 1869 in Rakkestad, Østfold, Norway and died in 1938.)

  Marriage Notes:

In the census for 1900 they lived on Loftsrud in Askim. Their two sons were with them. There were about a dozen canal workers also living there. ⁴
