In the census for 1900 he was a widower living with his son Anton and his family on the Gutu (bnr. 2) farm in Askim. He lived from his savings. His year of birth is recorded as 1819.

Anders married Marte Marie Kristensdatter on 20 Aug 1842 in Eidsberg, Østfold, Norway.¹ (Marte Marie Kristensdatter was born in 1805 in Rakkestad, Østfold, Norway, died on 8 Dec 1883 in Gutu u. søndre Rud, Askim, Østfold, Norway and was buried on 18 Dec 1883 in Askim, Østfold, Norway.)
