Johanne was the daughter of Gudmund Kristiansen and Gunhild Jonsdatter on Store-Hols plass (Hoel Øvre).

In the census for 1900 Johanne was living at the Agnæs Tændstikfabrik in Brunlanæs, Vestfold, Norway. She was a widow and was supported by poor relief [forsørges af Fattigvæsenet]. Her widowed daughter Gunhild was also there with her five daughters.

  Research Notes:

The 1865 census shows her as 35 years old. Her birth year would then be ca 1831.

The 1900 census shows her year of birth as 1825.


Johanne married Gullik Andersen, son of Anders Gudmundsen and Larine Hansdatter, on 3 Jul 1856 in Askim, Østfold, Norway.1 (Gullik Andersen was born circa 1828 in Ås, Akershus, Norway and died before 1900.)


  Marriage Notes:

When they married Gullik was 28 years old and Johanne was 31. His father was Anders Gudmundsen. She was from the Nyborg farm in Askim. The best men at their marriage were Christen and Ole Kvakkestad.

They were living on Qvakkesstadplads in October 1858 when their daughter Gunild Marie was christened and in December 1860 when their daughter Karen Mathea was christened.

In the 1865 census they were cottagers with land on the Onstad farm in Askim. They had their three sons, two daughters, and Gullik's widowed mother with them. 1 3
